Kremlin: There is no reason to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine

by

THE Russia would use nuclear weapons only when there would be one threat to its very existence and not as a result of the ongoing war in Ukrainesaid Mr. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov in an interview with PBS Newshour, as broadcast by CNN.

“Any outcome of the operation (in Ukraine) is not a natural cause for the use of nuclear weapons,” Peshkov said.

“We have a security concept that clearly states that only when there is a threat to the existence of the state in our country can we use and will indeed use nuclear weapons to eliminate the threat to the existence of our country.”

You are invited to comment on the designation “Butcher” made by US President Joe Biden for Vladimir Putin but also his statement that should not be in powerPeshkov said it was “quite worrying”.

“It’s a personal insult,” Peshkov said. “Of course it is completely unacceptable. “It is not up to the president of the United States to decide who will be and who is the president of the Russian Federation,” he said.

The representative of the Kremlin denied that the Russian forces deliberately targeted civilians in Ukraine, although Ukrainian forces, journalists and refugees fleeing the war-torn country describe heavy bombardment of homes, schools, hospitals and other political structures.

“They are not bombing houses. They do not bomb apartments. “They are not bombing political targets, they are only bombing and targeting military infrastructure,” Peshkov said.
