According to reports in the international media, earlier in March, two Russian fighters, armed with nuclear weapons, violated the airspace of the Scandinavian country, in order to “terrorize” Stockholm and to give up the idea of ​​joining the North Atlantic Alliance.
According to the Swedish channel TV4 Nyheterna, the airspace violation occurred on March 2nd and was recorded in the history of illegal flights by the competent service.
According to the same reports, on that date, a total of four aircraft took off from the Kaliningrad base, however two of them entered Swedish airspace illegally.
The two Russian aircraft were Sukhoi 24 and the other two were Sukhoi 27 fighter jets.
The incident came days after threats were made by Russia to take military action against Sweden and Finland if they joined NATO.
The commander of the Swedish Air Force, Carl Johann Enstrom “We are very concerned about the situation after the incident,” he said, adding: “Russia’s behavior is unprofessional and irresponsible.”
Carl Johann Edstrμm confirmed the incident, saying that the Swedish planes photographed the Russians and flew them out of the airspace.
