Tribute pays millions of users on social media in his American veteran World War II and his favorite Tiktok; Jake Larson – known online as’Papa jake» – who died at the age of 102.

Larson was one of the soldiers of the Allied forces who landed in Normandy during the landing of D-Day in 1944, contributing decisively to the defeat of Nazi Germany and the end of the war.

In his old age, Papa Jake hugged social media and acquired more than 1.2 million followers in Tiktok, where he shared stories from war and honored the memory of his fallen comrades.

Just three weeks before his death, he was awarded an Emmy Award, which he shared with journalist Christiane Amanpour for his 80-day interview with D-day.

His granddaughter, McKaela Larson, announced via Tiktok that Jake died on July 17, “calmly, saying jokes until his last breath“
