The iconic Ozzy Osbourne, the so -called “prince of darkness” by both the media and the public, went into eternity – signaling with his death the definitive end of an entire era for the world metal scene.
It is extremely moving that the death of the great British artist is just a few days after the great farewell concert of the Black Sabbath band, which took place on July 5 in Birmingham, his place of origin, and was broadcast live on the planet.
Ozzy, as he just called his fanatical audience- millions of people on the planet, was born on December 3, 1948.
His real name is John Michael Osbourne.
He was a child of a working family and had five brothers.
At an early age, he was victimized by a hard sexual bowling of his classmates.
At the age of 16, he began to work but after a year stopped and started burglaries and microcosms to make money to buy drugs. At 17 he ended up serving a 6 -month sentence. Coming out of prison, he decided to become a singer.
He created the Black Sabbath, essentially taking the name of his favorite horror movie after thinking that … after people pay to scare a movie he might want to scare a musical band.
Their first song, also named “Black Sabbath” and is said to have been heard by the amplifiers so loud that the electricity fell at least 3 times at each concert.
Many of them copied them and as a result the “96 Decibel law” was passed in England.
Their first album was released on Friday, February 13, 1970 and reached the Top-10 in English Chart.
With the first money, Ozborne returned home to repay his parents for what his 16 -year -old stay at home had cost them.
He was proud of his album and when he was listening to him he asked for their opinion. His mother found an excuse that he had a job in the kitchen while the strange father asked his son if he was taking more than alcohol.
Ozborn’s course with Black Sabbath continued until April 1979, releasing eight successful albums.
Solo career
In the early 1980s, he released his first personal album “Blizzard of Ozz”.
The album climbed the British Top-10 and became four times platinum. It was followed by “Diary of a Madman” in November 1981, with the top-20 single “Flying High Again”.
The Life of Reality on MTV
In July 1982, Ozborn married his wife and manager Sharon, with whom he has had three children, Amy, Kelly and Jack.
The singer gained a wider reputation and beyond his musical career, through the MTV reality “The Osbournes” in the 2000s.
The show recorded his – often chaotic – everyday life as “Crazy Father Familia” in Los Angeles and recommended him “for good” to the younger and possibly not initiated, in the musical genre he served, generations.
Reunification
On November 11, 2011, the “classic” Black Sabbath composition was announced, but shortly thereafter Bill Ward left. For the recordings of their first album after eighteen years, the band was included in the band’s former Rage Against the Machine drummer, Brad Wilk. On June 11, 2013, he released the album “13”, uploading the band to number 1 of British Charts for the first time since 1970.
Staying forever faithful to the narrative of “Hard Rock”, he linked his name to extreme stories and behaviors on stage, with the most characteristic of all that he bit the head of a bat during a concert.
In recent years it has been facing serious health problems, including Parkinson’s disease and complications of a fall in 2019.
Avlaia in Birmingham
On July 5, along with Black Sabbath, he bowed to the public for the last time, with the big farewell concert in Birmingham.
This iconic concert was attended by not only the 42,000 spectators who rushed to the Villa Park concert, but also more than 3 million who paid to see it live.
