Russia continues to withdraws part of its forces from the Kiev region to the north Ukraine and these forces are heading towards Belarus, the local governor said today, while the governor of Chernihiv said that the Russian forces are withdrawing from his own region, although not all of them have left.
“We are watching the movement of joint Russian convoys with different vehicle numbers,” Kiev regional governor Oleksandr Pavlyuk wrote in the Telegram message application.
He said Russian forces had left the village of Hostomel, but remained in the town of Butsa. Reuters was unable to verify the information.
The governor of the Chernihiv region, Vyacheslav Chaus, said in a video message today that although Russian forces were withdrawing from the area, “air and missile strikes are still possible, no one can rule out” occupy settlements previously occupied by Russian troops.
Chaos said it was still too early for Ukrainian forces to reduce their vigilance in the Chernihiv region, as Russian troops were “still on our soil”.
Russia announced on Tuesday that it would reduce the size of its operations in the Chernihiv and Kiev regions.
