“There are questions about the exact size of the commitment and the expense schedule of these money,” Loss said on Tuesday.

Possible funding scenarios and obstacles

According to Rafael Loss, it would be a “reasonable” part of the arms package to be purchased through the NATO fund, which has already committed almost $ 100 billion to military aid to Ukraine, although part of them has already been spent. If other European countries are taking over the cost of sending weapons to Ukraine, this may cause a problem to Europe’s efforts to direct resources to its own defense industry.

US weapons will probably be largely produced by US workers, which could absorb funds that the EU had planned to allocate to boost its own productive base in the defense.

Theoretically, Ukraine could buy some of the weapons with their own resources, leveraging revenue from the sale of domestic production of unmanned aircraft in the United States. Zelenski said the deal on drones was part of the security agreement discussed Monday at the White House, highlighting Ukraine’s worldwide avant -garde on the development of remote controlled aircraft and other systems.
