Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski has accused Russia of expanding the war after the alarm that sounded in Poland and Romania for invading Russian unmanned aircraft into their airspace.
The Russian Armed Forces knew exactly where their unmanned aircraft were flying, it was not the arbitrariness of a low -level commander, Zelenski said in a post on the Telegram platform. “This is an obvious expansion of the war from Russia,” Ukraine’s president underlined. This move requires preventive action from the West. Russia must suffer the consequences, Zelenski added.
He once again urged the allies to impose sanctions and duties on Russia’s commercial partners, echoing US President Donald Trump’s statements.
He also stressed the need for a common security system.
“Don’t expect dozens of shahad and ballistic missiles before making decisions,” he told European allies.
The Ukrainian president had also referred to the issue of sanctions, in a video message broadcast on Saturday night. He said it was necessary to shrink Russian oil trade in order to minimize Russia’s ability to finance war operations.
In this light, he praised the Trump proposal for coordinated action against Russia. “I ask all partners to stop looking for excuses” not to impose sanctions, “Zelenski said, addressing Europe, USA, G7 and G20.
