Anger in the West over the “slaughter” in Bouka: Zelensky’s message, “Provocations” says Moscow

by

Images from the city of Bukha, on the outskirts of Kiev, with the dead lying in the streets are causing international disgust.

Images of horror were recorded by SKAI’s camera and the envoys of the station in Bouka, which was under Russian occupation for a month. Along the way, SKAI’s crew encountered scorched earth and civilians who had fallen dead trying to find safe haven.

At the same time, investigations were launched in Ukraine by local prosecutors in the Kiev region for possible war crimes committed by Russia.

Zelensky: “War Crimes” Guilty to Be Punished

The “war crimes” committed in Bukha and other occupied cities will be discussed at a UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

He warned that those responsible “will be found and punished”.

He called the Russian military “beasts” who “know no other way to act” than to commit crimes.

“Provocations,” says Moscow

For its part, Moscow has denied the allegations in a statement issued Friday stating “Similar, baseless allegations concerning Russia’s foreign policy have been made more than once.

Later, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow was calling for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council today to discuss the “escalation of violence” on the part of Kiev.

Anger at Western leaders

“Russia’s brutal attacks on innocent civilians in Irpin and Bukhara provide further evidence that Putin and his army are committing war crimes in Ukraine,” the British prime minister wrote on Twitter.

Johnson stressed that “no denial or misinformation from the Kremlin can hide what we all know to be true – Putin is desperate, his invasion fails and Ukraine’s determination has never been stronger.”

New sanctions against Russia are expected to be announced in the coming days by the West, after the massacre in Bouka.

Insufficient sanctions says Kyiv – You will not isolate us, Moscow replies

However, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba described them as “insufficient”. He stated that he had seen the draft and added that “as it stands, it is an inadequate response to the Russian crime, to the Russian attack”.

He demanded that Europe impose an embargo on oil, gas and coal exported by Russia, close European ports on Russian ships and cargo, and exclude other Russian banks from the SWIFT interbank communication system. He added that he expects the same measures to be imposed by the G7.

For his part, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov called it “impossible” to isolate Russia in the modern world.

“Sooner or later, we will have to have a dialogue, whether they want it across the Atlantic or not.”
