Donald Trump’s dance of triumph over the developments in the Middle East seems to have been stopped by his work with Ukraine yesterday, as a result of which he is angry. Everyone extolled him for peace in Gaza, until yesterday a beautiful atmosphere, as he describes it himself, which was spoiled by his attitude towards the war in Ukraine.

According to Michalis Ignatiou, his tactic on Gaza does not seem to be working with the Ukrainian, because Putin does not seem to fear him and listen to no one else, as happened with Hamas, which was controlled by Turkey and Qatar. In the case of Gaza, the strongman that was Netanyahu cooperated with him while the Russian president seems to ignore and exploit him.

The American president, according to information from the White House, is at his mansion in Mar-a-Lago, to rest and in the morning he went to the golf course with his friends, but he made sure to send his message again from Florida:

“I told President Putin and President Zelensky to immediately stop the war and cross the battle line wherever they are, otherwise it will get very complicated.”. “Stop now where you fight”he warned.

It is recalled that in yesterday’s meeting with the Ukrainian president at the White House, the US president, although he did not rule out the possibility of providing the long-range Tomahawk missiles requested by Volodymyr Zelensky, appeared cautious about this prospect, as he is preparing for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Hungary in the coming weeks.

Trump’s mistake

According to Michalis Ignatiou, the mistake that the American president makes with Putin is that he does not consider him as fully responsible for the invasion of Ukraine, and because of his dislike for Zelensky, he actually wanders and changes his positions all the time. He understands, of course, that he is trapped politically and diplomatically in Ukraine, so he chose a new strategy on Friday. He calls for an immediate end to the war but Putin continues. At the same time, he asks them to stay on the war lines, where their troops are located, and to start negotiations to settle the territorial aspect.

It is a difficult equation that he is trying to solve and already some of his partners say that he will fail.

The meetings in Budapest

In about two weeks, the US president plans to meet in Budapest with Putin and Zelensky, separately, first the Russian president and then the Ukrainian.

The foundations of these meetings are expected to be laid by the foreign ministers of the United States, Russia and Ukraine, again in separate meetings. In fact, Marco Rubio and Sergey Lavrov are expected to meet next week, probably in Budapest, although they are also considering Switzerland, according to the same sources.

Over 2,700 protests in the US – The message

At the same time, large demonstrations have begun across the US territory, from New York to San Francisco, as part of today’s day of mobilizations that are already condemned by the American right as an expression of “hate against America”.

With the central slogan “No Kings”, millions of Americans are demonstrating to denounce the authoritarian exercise of power by Donald Trump.

In the Forest Hills area of New York, thousands of people gathered from noon shouting “we love our country, we don’t tolerate Trump”.

By mid-June, the first day of protests organized by the umbrella organization No Kings, which represents some 300 organizations, had brought together millions of protesters of all ages.

Officials of the Republican Party denounce “mobilization of hatred against America”, while the speaker of the House of Representatives said: “I bet you’ll see Hamas and antifa supporters”. Representative Tom Emmer of Minnesota spoke of a “terrorist wing of the Democratic Party.”

“Don’t let Donald Trump and the Republicans bully and silence you,” the head of the Democratic Party’s senators, Chuck Schumer, responded by calling on Americans to “make their voices heard” with a message to X. A similar call was made by the defeated Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, as well as Hollywood star Robert De Niro.
