The families of the Israeli hostages are demanding that the next steps in the US-brokered Gaza peace plan be delayed until Hamas returns the remaining bodies of the dead captives.
“Hamas knows exactly where each of the dead hostages is being held. Two weeks have passed since the deadline set in the agreement for the return of all 48 hostages, yet 13 remain captives of Hamas,” said the Hostage and Missing Families Forum.
“The families are urging the government of Israel, the government of the United States and mediatorsnot to proceed to the next phase of the agreement until Hamas fulfills all its obligations and returns every hostage to Israel.”
Egypt is reportedly sending heavy vehicles to Gaza
At the same time, Egypt is stepping up recovery and clearance operations in the Gaza Strip, according to the Saudi Al Hadath channel, bringing 12 heavy vehicles in the enclave this morning to clear the streets and assist in efforts to locate the bodies of the hostages.
The agency reports that the entry of further Egyptian equipment, including vehicles, was done with Israel’s approval.
