THE Mayor of Mariupol Vadim Boichenko told the Associated Press that More than 10,000 civilians have been killed since the start of the Russian invasion of the citybroadcasts the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform.
According to Boichenko, this number can reach up to 20,000as the Russian conquerors continue the attacks on the city and leave the bodies of the Mariupolites as a “carpet in the streets”.
The mayor accused the Russians that for several weeks they have been blocking any attempt to reach humanitarian aid in the city, in order to partially cover up the murders they are committing.
Boychenko revealed new details regarding the statements of the officials, that the Russian forces have brought mobile crematoria to Mariupol in order to destroy the victims of the blockade that they have imposed in the city.
He said Russian forces had transported many bodies to a huge shopping mall with storage facilities and refrigerators.
“Mobile crematoria in the form of trucks have arrived: you open them and inside there is a pipe where these bodies are burned” said the mayor, stressing that in Mariupol remain 120,000 residents who urgently need food, water, heating and communications
Ukrainian officials say Russian servicemen take passports from Ukrainian citizens and then send them to “filtering” camps controlled by Russian separatists. They are then sent to various parts of Russia.
Bojchenko said that for those who have not passed the “filtering” temporary prisons have been created and at least 33,000 have been transferred to Russia or to the territories controlled by the separatists.
According to Ukrinform, Russian troops have turned Mariupol into a vast wasteland, residents starve to death in the streets and are buried alive in shelters from the bombings.
