More from 20 countries have confirmed that they will participate in the talks that will focus on Ukraine and will be held Tuesday at US Air Force Base Rammstein in West Germanyannounced today the US Department of Defense.

About 40 countries have been invited to the conference at the Rammstein base, which is one of the largest US military installations abroad, a Pentagon spokesman said yesterday. John Kirby.

THE Kirby did not say exactly which countries have already accepted the invitation from US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

Among them are countries that do not belong to NATO. The meeting will not take place under the umbrella of the Alliance.

Kirby had previously stated that one of the goals of the consultations was the lasting security and sovereignty of Ukraine. Therefore, the conference should focus on Ukraine’s defense needs in addition to the current war declared by Moscow.

“The fact that more than 20 countries have already agreed to join in such a short period of time is an indication of the importance that the United States and those countries attach to Ukraine’s defense needs,” Kirby said.

The US government announced this week new $ 800 million in military aid to Ukraine.
