French elections: Unofficial exit polls show big victory for Emanuel Macron

by

Emanuel Macron’s turnout in the second round of the French elections will range from 55% to 58%, according to unofficial exit polls, which, if verified, will give him a big victory over his far-right opponent, Marin Le Pen, and a second term in Palace of the Elysium.

The percentages of Marin Lepen are between 42% and 45% according to unofficial exit polls, as broadcast by SKAI’s envoy in Paris, Antonis Antzoletos, in SKAI’s main news bulletin with Nikos Stravelakis, citing polls by four different companies broadcast by Belgian network LN24.

More specifically, the results of the polls are as follows:

Harris Interactive: 55% Macron – 45% Lepen.

Ifop: 56% Macron – 44% Lepen.

OpinionWay: 58% Macron – 42% Lepen.

BVA: 57% Macron – 43% Lepen.

These results come from surveys conducted on citizens who have already voted by 5 pm.

High abstention rate

As for the participation rate, analysts estimate that it will be around 28%. If these estimates are verified, it will be one of higher abstention rates in recent decades.

The increased abstention can be interpreted as the reluctance of the voters who voted for the excluded candidates in the first round, to follow their prompts and to vote in the second round.

Most of the excluded candidates were more or less in favor of Macron, the far right in favor of Le Pen, while from the left Melanson declared “no vote in Le Pen” without proposing Macron.

Another explanation that can also be given for the increase in abstention is that this week in France was a school holiday week and many French people have left their places of residence.
