The Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev argued Tuesday that the policy of the West and the Ukrainian government leads to the partition of Ukraine.
According to the government newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Nikolai Patrushev said that “with the policy pursued by the West and the Kiev government, Ukraine will collapse and many states will be created.”
With this statement, Russia brings back to the table the creation of “people’s democracies” such as Donetsk and Luhansk.
It is noted that earlier the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that there was a “real” danger of a third world war. The Russian Foreign Minister accused the Ukrainian President, a former actor who was elected in 2019, that he “pretends” that he is negotiating. “He is a good actor (…) if we look carefully and read carefully what he says, we will find thousands of contradictions,” he said.
It is noted that the President of Moldova condemned any attempt to involve her country in actions that would endanger peace in the country, referring to forces that “want to destabilize the Transnistrian region.”
Maya Santou convened the Security Council after the attacks and explosions on two communication antennas in Transnistria, clarifying that they do not know who is responsible for the attacks or whether they are groups from inside the country or abroad.
The Moldovan president spoke of escalating tensions after the two attacks, as “there have been false bomb alerts in recent weeks. “There are different tensions between different forces in the Transnistrian region and that makes the Republic of Moldova vulnerable,” Ms Santou added.
