Russian energy company Gazprom warned Poland and Bulgaria on Tuesday that it would suspend gas supplies to those countries after Warsaw imposed new sanctions on Russian individuals and companies.
With the measure that goes into effect this Wednesday (27), countries become the first to have gas cut off by Europe’s main supplier, since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.
Members of NATO, the western military alliance, Poland and Bulgaria have assured that there will be no shortage of the product as they prepare to obtain the missing gas from other sources.
