NYT: The US helped the Ukrainians kill Russian generals

The US intelligence services gave the Ukrainians information that allowed them to kill several Russian generals near the fronts, the New York Times claimed on Wednesday, citing unnamed U.S. officials.

Washington provides detailed information on troop movements, locations in Kyiv and other details about the Russian military’s mobile command centers; the post.

Neither the Pentagon nor the White House responded when Reuters and the French news agency tried to contact them for comment on the Times.

The Ukrainian government claims that its forces have killed about 12 Russian generals.

Beginning of March, The municipality of Novorossiysk in southern Russia has confirmed that General Andrei Sukhovetskydeputy commander of the 41st Army, fell “heroically” in Ukraine.

New York Times sources did not want to say how many Russian generals were killed because of the information provided by Washington to Kyiv.

This information cannot be independently verified.

On Monday, the The Pentagon has officially announced that the head of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, went for “several days” last week on the front in Donbass, in eastern Ukraine, implying that top Russian officers are increasingly close to the battlefields.

However, the Pentagon did not confirm the Ukrainian allegations that Valery Gerasimov was injured.

Adviser to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said on Sunday that several Senior Russian officers were beaten when an “explosion” took place in Izum, adding that the head of the Russian General Staff was on the spot. But another Ukrainian official said the top Russian officer was not injured.

US intelligence assistance, which Washington confirms but without elaborating on, military aid of billions of dollars which it has supplied, in a much more transparent way, to the Ukrainian army, including anti-tank weapons, ammunition and, more recently, heavy artillery, helicopters and UAVs.

“We want to see Russia weakened to such an extent that it can no longer do things like invade Ukraine,” US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said on April 25.
