Zelensky to Israeli Prime Minister: Lavrov angered the people

by

The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Thursday that it had contacted Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett with whom they discussed the “scandalous and completely unacceptable reports” of the Russian Foreign Minister about Hitler.

The Zelensky-Bennett communication took place as Israel celebrates its 74th Independence Day.

In a statement earlier in the day, Zelensky said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had made comments. outraged the whole world. He also said that he had informed Bennett about the Ukrainian actions to counter the Russian invasion and about the critical situation in Mariupol.

In an interview Sunday, Lavrov called Adolf Hitler “Jewish blood.” Lavrov’s remarks sparked outrage in Israel and around the world.

Sergei Lavrov spoke on Italian television about Moscow’s decision to invade Ukraine, insisting that the goal was to “de-Nazify” the country.

“Zelensky puts forward an argument: what kind of Nazism can exist in Ukraine when he himself is a Jew. I may be wrong, but Hitler also had Jewish blood. It means absolutely nothing. “The wise Jewish people say that the most ardent anti-Semites are usually Jews.” Lavrov said characteristically, provoking the reaction of Israel, while the Russian ambassador was also called to protest.

THE Foreign Minister Yer Lapid condemned Lavrov’s statements, with the Kremlin responding that “Israeli mercenaries are fighting on the side of the Ukrainians.”
