Government of São Paulo opens 25 thousand vacancies in technology courses; know how to sign up

With an unemployment rate of 12.3% in the first quarter, above the national average of 11.1%, the state of São Paulo is looking for solutions to employ the population looking for work. Through a partnership, the state government offers 25 thousand places in free courses in the areas of technology and innovation.

There are four courses —HTML Web Developer, NET Fundamentals, Java Developer and Java Script Game Developer — with enrollment already open. Classes are online and, at the end, a certificate is issued. The courses are intended for residents of the state of São Paulo, literate and with a minimum age of 16 years.

Applications can be made on the website www.cursosviarapida.sp.gov.br/trilhas-sp-tech until August 30th or while there are vacancies.

The free chances are the result of a partnership with the company DIO and, according to the Secretary of Economic Development of the State of São Paulo, Zeina Latif, they aim to train people from São Paulo for a sector with a shortage of qualified professionals.

“We are concerned with offering training that increases the employability and income of citizens. Brazil has a labor shortage in the information technology sector, and these 25,000 vacancies will be able to help meet the demand”, says Latif.

Data from Brasscom (Association of Information and Communication Technology and Digital Technologies Companies) are that, by 2025, Brazil may face an annual deficit of 159,000 professionals in software and information technology services. In addition, the demand for these professionals can reach 800 thousand.

The government has invested in partnerships in an attempt to solve unemployment in the state of São Paulo. At the Employment Task Force, held by the Trade Workers Union, the secretariat was present offering courses. Altogether, over 1,600 people were enrolled in Via Rápido and Bolsa Empreendedor during the collective effort on the 16th.

4. A page of DIO, a partner company in offering courses, will be opened. On this page, you can also check more information; go to “Sign Up” again at the top to fill in the form
5. After filling out the form, you will receive a confirmation link in your email. If it’s not in your inbox, check your junk or spam folder.
6. By clicking on the link provided in the email, you will have access to the DIO platform. Click “Enroll Now”
7. Fill in the data requested by the system
8. Click “Start Now”

About the courses

The courses are entirely online and offer a certificate at the end. Those who complete the training may be hired by DIO partners, depending on the availability of vacancies.
