Created in 2020, Mover, a movement of companies for racial equity started after the murder of João Alberto Silveira Freitas by security guards in the Carrefour parking lot, held the first face-to-face meeting since its foundation.
Twenty-one presidents of the 47 companies that are currently part of the group participated in the event, including Mondelez, Nestlé, Ambev and Coca Cola.
From now on, the face-to-face meetings will be bimonthly and the entity already has three more appointments scheduled for this year.
The meeting took place at Nestlé’s headquarters in São Paulo, and the agenda was to reach the goal of over 10,000 leadership positions occupied by black people by 2030.
They also discussed initiatives to achieve the other two Mover goals. The goal is to offer 3 million training and employment vacancies for black people and to be a support tool in raising awareness against racism.
Mover was created as a manifesto launched by a small group of Carrefour suppliers to fight racism. It was born with about ten companies such as Nestlé, Mondelez, Coca-Cola and L’Oréal and today it has the participation of almost 50 companies.
