At the same time, a subsidy is expected for the diesel pump.

Continue after June 30th and fuel pas expansions the government announces probably in the last week of the month. It is considered almost certain that the beneficiaries will increase since the income bar that is now at € 30,000 gross family income will rise and could reach € 45,000 as is the case with the electricity subsidy.
“We find that they are affected by increases in fuel revenues that are above this perimeter of the most vulnerable” stated to SKAI o government spokesman confirming the scenarios. The extension of the measure will not be monthly but for a wider period probably 2-3 months.
However, the amount itself is being considered since the amounts of 30-55 € were small with an average price in unleaded 2 €, especially now that it has reached 2.37 € / liter. As wrote the measure was considered a complete success as it ensures that the money goes to the beneficiaries and is not lost to any intermediaries – as is the case with indirect tax cuts.
The announcements will not be exhausted in the fuel pass, however, as the problem is growing day by day. An increase is also expected for the pump subsidy as to diesel since the situation is now very different from when the 15 minutes of the current system were decided.
The market is asking for a subsidy for the pump and the lead, but everything shows that the measure has been rejected since its cost is many times higher than this diesel because the use is much wider.
But especially the islands need extra support. Indicatively, in Apple unleaded has reached 2,755 € / liter for sale at Santorini € 2.73, at Naxos 2.7 € and in Amorgos € 2.68. The expansion of the transport equivalent remains on the table because part of the inflated prices is due to transport costs but also because it subsidizes the permanent residents and not the tourists which is what is required for the Ministry of Finance. The islanders would of course like a temporary reduction of VAT but even this measure is not in the priorities of the government.
