Governor Rodrigo Garcia, who is contesting the election for Palácio dos Bandeirantes, announced this Thursday (30) that there will be no toll readjustment on São Paulo’s highways.
“Faced with the rampant rise in prices, especially fuel, it is unthinkable to encumber the pocket of São Paulo”, wrote the governor on social media.
According to the SLT (Secretariat of Logistics and Transport), the update would be from 10.72% (IGPM) to 11.73% (IPCA) – depending on the index of the concession contract – for inflationary losses occurred in the last 12 months.
The SLT says it will meet with Artesp (Transport Agency of the State of São Paulo) to develop a new policy for the highways under concession so as not to make the contracts unfeasible.
On Monday (27), a thematic chamber was created to discuss forms of compensation with companies and avoid breaches of contracts.
Participating in the group are representatives of Artesp, the State Attorney General’s Office, government and finance secretariats, ABCR (national association of concessionaires), Setcesp (Union of Cargo Transport Companies of São Paulo and Region) and Fetcesp (Federation of of Cargo Transport in the State of São Paulo).
