The feline world domination process takes another step and conquers territory at 243 Rua Augusta, in the central region of São Paulo.
It is there that the first physical store Cansei de Ser Gato, owned by CEO Chico, 10, and partners Madalena, 10, Tião, 8, and Terezinha, 8, will open on August 6th.
The 214m² space will have all the products available on the brand’s ecommerce, such as the kangaroo sweatshirt for cats (R$89.90), the catnip drumstick (R$39.90) and the porcelain drinking fountain (R$59.90). ).
Cansei de Ser Gato emerged as a humor profile on social networks in 2013. The big star has always been Chico, Amanda Nori and Stéfany Guimarães’ potbellied kitten with a tabby coat.
Madalena, Tião and Terezinha, who are almost identical, were also adopted by the tutors. They currently have 1 million followers on Facebook and 579,000 on Instagram, as well as an exclusive podcast on Spotify, Podcat.
The online store appeared in 2014, when Amanda and Stéfany started selling a cat hammock (R$99.90), which is attached to the legs of the chair, and to this day it is one of the brand’s best-selling products – the best sellers. are the bagged catnip (R$ 11.90), the deck (R$ 29.90) and the shallow feeder (R$ 59.90).
“We’ve had a pick-up point since 2018 and we realized that consumers really like this experience of going there, feeling closer to the brand, so we came up with the idea of the physical store”, says Amanda.
Another favorable factor for the opening of the space was the successful partnership with Petz, since June of last year.
The pet store chain bought the Cansei de Ser Gato platform, keeping Amanda and Stéfany in the operation, and started to make shelves with some items of the brand available for sale.
On the opening day of the store, which is next to Petz’s Augusta unit, Chico’s fans will be presented with an illustration from the kitten’s next book, the “Manual of Feline World Domination”.
Just like the public that buys at Petz, consumers will get a badge for their domination pussies. “It’s a game that has been very successful, we already have 8,000 kittens registered”, says Stéfany.
