Bolsonaro says that Lula’s picanha is ‘soft talk’ and there is no filet mignon for everyone

President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) called the promise of former President Lula (PT) that, if elected, Brazilians go back to eating “picanha” a “soft talk”.

“Believing in this soft talk that you’ll have everything, that I’ll pass the gas to R$ 3. That everyone will eat picanha every weekend. There’s no filet mignon for everyone!”, said the Chief Executive in a conversation with businessmen this Friday morning (26), in the capital of São Paulo.

The PT’s speech was made on Thursday night (25), in an interview with “Jornal Nacional”, on TV Globo.

Lula cited the beef cut as an example of luxury that Brazilians will have access to if they return to the Planalto Palace.

“It’s the only reason I want to be president again, is to fix this country”, said the PT. “This country has to grow again, it has to be happy again, it has to generate jobs again. The people, I always say: the people have to go back to eating a barbecue, eating a steak and having a beer.”

In the afternoon, Bolsonaro repeated the speech, saying that “the left sells the illusion of picanha to everyone”. “There’s no filet mignon for everyone”, he reinforced in a three-hour interview with the program “Pânico”, on Jovem Pan radio.

The president is on the agenda in the state of SP this Friday. He will also participate in an interview with the podcast “Ironberg”, aimed at bodybuilders. At night, Bolsonaro travels to Barretos, in the interior of São Paulo, where he visits the city’s traditional rodeo party.
