The second-hand market for the Brazilian team’s shirts jumped by almost 85% in sales in September, compared to August, on the website of OLX, an ecommerce platform specializing in used items.
Searches for the product on the site grew almost 200% on the same basis of comparison, according to the company.
The increase was also large in the insertion of ads on the platform, which reflects the sales intention. The indicator rose 90%, according to OLX.
In addition to the demand boost caused by the proximity of the World Cup, recently, the electoral scenario may have influenced the movement, with Bolsonaro’s call for his voters to go to the polls dressed in the colors of the flag.
Demand has also grown outside the second-hand market, which has faced shortages in recent weeks.
