Defaulters can pay their debt with Pix at the Serasa Limpa Nome fair

by

Defaulting Brazilians can renegotiate their debts with up to 99% discount at the Feirão Serasa Limpa Nome. Negotiations can be made online, on the serasalimpanome.com.br website or Serasa app, or in person, in three capital cities: São Paulo (SP), Salvador (BA) and Porto Alegre (RS).

The face-to-face negotiations began this Tuesday (8) and will continue until Saturday (12), from 8 am to 8 pm. There are five windows in each trading tent. In São Paulo, the tent is located in the Anhangabaú valley and serves not only residents of the capital, but people from other states can also participate.

This year, the debt can be paid with Pix. In addition, there is the possibility of removing the name of the debtor from the defaulter register within 24 hours after the negotiation. In all, 267 companies participate in the action. The discount percentage depends on each one.

Those who choose to negotiate debt over the internet will have more time. The online fair started on November 1st and runs until December 5th, with the same rules as the face-to-face fair. The intention is to take advantage of the period in which workers receive the 13th salary so that they have the opportunity to start the process of resuming credit.

According to data from Serasa, the number of defaulters grew again for the 9th consecutive month and currently reaches 68.39 million people. The average debt amount reaches R$ 4,324.42. The largest share of debt is in the banking and cards segment, which concentrates 29.45%.

In São Paulo, the situation of default is also serious. More than 16 million people are in default in the state of São Paulo, of which 4.5 million are in the state capital alone.

Aline Maciel, manager of Serasa, considers the opportunities offered this year as great attractions, especially the possibility of removing the name from the list of defaulters within 24 hours. Before, according to her, consumers who waited up to five business days to clear their name after payment. “Also, we know how well Pix was received by the population,” she says.

“The numerous news in favor of the population, the record number of partners and offers, and the proximity of the 13th salary will help Brazilians to pay off debts and start the new year with a clean name and credit in the market”, says Aline.

In the last two editions of Feirão Serasa Limpa Nome —in November of last year and, as an emergency, in March of this year—, more than R$ 15.7 billion in discounts were granted, according to Serasa’s balance sheet, benefiting 7.3 more million Brazilians in debt.

SEE THREE TIPS TO GET OUT OF DEFAULT

1. DO THE ACCOUNTS TO UNDERSTAND YOUR DEBT

  • Make a list of all overdue bills and installments, with their respective amounts. Put at the top of the list those that you need to pay off first, because they are essential, such as water and electricity bills, for example, or because they cost more, such as credit cards and overdrafts.
  • Then, you need to know how much you will have available each month to pay the arrears, considering the other expenses you already have

2. NEGOTIATE WITH CREDITORS

  • Look for the companies you owe and try to negotiate. Do not accept the first proposal, but understand how the negotiation is going: What is the discount percentage on the total debt? If I pay in cash, is there a bigger discount? If you pay in installments, how much interest is there?
  • Define a goal, the amount you can have and make counterpoints
  • If you still have doubts, ask for the negotiation proposal to be made in writing. Go home, talk to the family and come back later to hit the hammer and sign the renegotiation contract

3. ORGANIZE YOURSELF TO NOT CONTINUE TO DEBT

  • When closing the deal, know that you have to stick to it until the end, so negotiate only amounts you can pay with the income you already have
  • To ensure that you no longer have negative debts in your name, bet on financial planning, balance your monthly earnings and expenses. Make a spreadsheet and involve the whole family in this control and in the effort to save
