Unions schedule an assembly that could remove Josué Gomes from Fiesp

by

Opposition unions to the management of Josué Gomes at the head of Fiesp (Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo) published this Sunday (11) the convening of an extraordinary assembly on December 21 to discuss the conduct of the president of the entity –and that may result in your dismissal.

The plenary was requested for the first time by the unions in October. In early November, Gomes communicated in a director’s meeting that he would not make the summons because he understood that the request was not detailed. The group even made a new request for an assembly on November 27, after having detailed the request, but the summons did not come out.

Such as Sheet showed on Tuesday (6), the unions were already considering self-convocation, as they understood that this is foreseen in the entity’s statute, but understood that it would be better if the assembly was scheduled by the management. At Fiesp, the perspective was that this call should be left for January.

Opposition to Gomes’ management is the majority among unions linked to Fiesp. Of the 106 entitled to vote, 80 signed the two recent documents sent to the entity’s management, which were the details of the reasons for holding the meeting and the new request to call the meeting.

In total, 86 directors signed these communiqués. Between the first request, in October, and the new ones, in November, the number of subscriptions rose. There were 78 in the first request.

The leadership of the movement to dismiss Gomes is attributed to the former president of Fiesp, Paulo Skaf, who spent 17 years in charge of the industry entity.
