Later, speaking to the press, he said that the new government is yet to assess whether it proposes changes to the sanitation framework.

“The sanitation framework needs to be done with dialogue. This issue is established in part by what the private sector will do, as well as the public sector. There are areas that the private sector is not interested in, there is where the public sector has to be “, said the minister.

“There doesn’t have to be any prejudice on one side or the other,” he declared.

The event also brought together militants from social movements for housing, who supported Lula on more than one occasion, such as the MNLM (National Movement for the Fight for Housing), the MLB (Movement to Fight in Neighborhoods, Villages and Favelas) and of the MTST (Movement of Homeless Workers).

The new minister said he is open to dialogue with social movements. Jader Filho stated that the new management will list the housing works that are at a standstill, and resume the construction of lane 1 of Minha Casa, Minha Vida, aimed at the poorest.
