Lower than the average of EU countries was the price of electricity in Greece in December, according to data from the monthly HEPI survey of retail electricity prices in European countries. The investigation is being conducted by the energy regulatory authorities of Austria and Hungary and the company Vaasa ETT.

Specifically, the final price in Greece is 30.33 cents per kilowatt hour against 31.74 cents, which is the EU average. With these data, Athens (the survey examines the capitals of the countries) ranks 15th among the “27”. The most expensive city is Brussels with 54.44 cents per kilowatt hour.
Compared to November, the price in our country decreased by 1%, while the overall electricity price index in Europe moved downward.
As far as natural gas is concerned, the household tariff in Athens is also lower than the EU average (13.33 cents against 15.09). Compared to November, the price in Athens increased by 10%. The most expensive capital is Stockholm with 30.02 cents per kilowatt hour.
