Georgiadis: Teleconference with food manufacturers for more branded products in the “Household Basket”

Ways to strengthen the “Household Basket”, with more branded products, was discussed on Wednesday by Adonis Georgiades, with representatives of the Association of Greek Food Industries (SEBT).

In the teleconference of the Minister of Development, Deputy Minister Nof Papathanasis and the general secretary of Trade and Consumer Protection Sotiris Anagnostopoulos with the Board of Directors of SEBT under its president, Yannis Giotis, as the relevant announcement states, an evaluation of the progress of the “Household Basket” to date was made, with an initiative supported by SEBT and ways of further strengthening it, with more branded products, were examined, always with the aim of protecting households and especially the most vulnerable in the current environment of high inflation.

In announcement of the Ministry of Finance it is pointed out that, as in the previous teleconference with SEBT on October 12, 2022, today’s was also recorded and minutes were taken in order to ensure that the rules on competition are absolutely safe.

In his previous post on Twitter, Mr. Georgiadis emphasizes that for the 10th week of implementation of the “Basket” the prices of 85% of the participating products remained stable.
