Transparency and scandals have always been the number one “feeder” of pre-election political confrontation and, together with the issues and “bets” of the economy, determined the agenda on the way to each election.

On this well-trodden path, the confrontation between ND and SYRIZA seems to be moving again, with the difference that instead of the government being blamed – as usual – for its actions, in the current pre-election period the revelations and what is taking place in the Special court in the 2016 TV licensing case, they reverse the roles.

The new claims of businessman Christos Kalogritsa’s secretary for forty years, Ethalia Diamantis, acted as combustible material in this confrontation. After her testimony at the Special Court regarding the route of money to SYRIZA, Mrs. Diamanti in an interview spoke about the continuous flow of money from the businessman to SYRIZA for the creation of the so-called SYRIZA Channel with the payment of even the salaries of the team that worked for project, SMS exchange with Nikos Pappas and his regular meetings with the former SYRIZA minister and the lawyer Artemis Artemiou.

The intention of Piraeus is, as long as Alexis Tsipras does not answer, to insist on asking the questions imperatively. “We are broadcasting a Missing Alert for Mr. Tsipras! We hope that he will be found quickly to answer the questions that we will not tire of repeating:
– What is being complained about his party and his closest partner was he aware of or not?
-Were they under his guidance or not? ” said the latest announcement of the ND on the case.

This tactic of Piraeus, however, insists on seeking answers for a case that shook the political scene even then, in 2016, when SYRIZA tried, based on the testimonies at the special bar, to “set up” the creation of a friend channel adjacent to it , of the so-called SYRIZA channel, in addition to the polarization it can cause in the political audience and ND voters, it is also part of the broader strategy of comparison.

In fact, the main strategy of the ND is to remind, on the one hand, what was achieved during the period of its government, especially in times of crisis and how much it supported the citizens, and, on the other hand, to compare “the works and days” of the SRYIZA government 2015- 2019. A draining one which is the truth that was not “forgotten” by the government officials throughout the administration of the blue faction, but as the ballot box approaches, it is obvious that the polarization will constantly increase from the ND, in order to achieve the goal of self-reliance.
