At the end of the week or by Monday at the latest, the announcements for the new support measures of the companies that are affected by the restrictions that have been taken for the spread of the coronavirus are expected.
According to information, on Thursday, after the announcements for the measures that will be in force from January 16, the financial staff of the government will meet to consider the ways of strengthening the companies.
On the table is the extension of the beneficiaries of the allowance of 534 euros, which is currently granted mainly in clubs, restaurants and entertainment centers.
The next issue is the companies with the Minister of Development, Adonis Georgiadis having announced in advance support measures for those who have suffered a reduction in their turnovers, however according to information from SKAI, this measure will come a little later, after first determining which companies were affected.
At the same time, there are discussions about the increase of the minimum wage, which seems to come sooner than expected. Officials of the financial staff speak of an “urgent” need for the double increase of the minimum wage, close to 700 euros, and in this context, the relevant discussions are expected to begin in January. Besides, there is the background to do this, as 2021 closed with a growth of over 8%, while for this year it is estimated that it will reach 4.5% -5%.
