SBT prepares the premiere of a program about agribusiness to compete with the public on Sundays

Preparing a series of new features for its programming for 2024, SBT will debut in March an attraction dedicated to rural people and agribusiness. This is SBT Agro, an attraction that already had space on SBT News, a digital news platform from Silvio Santos’ broadcaster.

The attraction will debut on March 17th, and will air from 6 am to 7 am, every Sunday. The idea is to try to increase the station’s revenue on Sundays.

The project will replace Jornal da Semana, a news program that summarized the main events of the previous days for viewers. The presentation has not yet been defined.

The big news about the project is the way it will be produced. SBT Agro will be entirely carried out by Rede Massa, the broadcaster’s affiliate in Paraná, which belongs to presenter Carlos Massa, aka Ratinho.

The broadcaster’s journalism in São Paulo will provide support. SBT’s commercial area is already looking for advertisers, and a large meat company was interested in advertising on the attraction, according to the F5 found out. SBT is confident in the project’s commercial potential.

The idea is to continue beating Record on time and, who knows, upset Globo. The optimism is due to the success of Globo Rural, presented on Sunday mornings by the competitor.

Today, Globo Rural has ratings of around 10 audience points in Greater São Paulo (each point is equivalent to 191 thousand viewers). On some days, the attraction becomes the most tuned in on the network that day.
