The electricity index increased by 30.5% – The water supply index increased by 8.9% – The manufacturing index increased by 5.2%
Industrial production in the country increased by 9.5% in June this year, while especially the production of the country’s manufacturing industries moved upwards by 5.2%.
As announced by ELSTAT, the general index of industrial production presented an increase of 9.5% in June 2024 compared to the corresponding index of June 2023, against a decrease of 3% noted in the corresponding comparison of 2023 to 2022.
This development came from the following changes in the indicators of individual industry sectors:
From the increase:
- By 30.5% of the electricity supply index.
- By 8.9% of the water supply index.
- By 5.2% of the manufacturing index. This rise was mainly contributed by the increase in the production of coke and petroleum refining products (38.5%), in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment (25.7%), in the leather and leather goods industry (25.1%), in the production of chemicals and products (11.8%) and in the production of other non-metallic mineral products (9.6%).
From the reduction:
- By 6.6% of the mines-quarries index.
At average levels in the first half of this year, the general index showed an increase of 6.4% compared to the corresponding index for the period January-June 2023.
While, the seasonally adjusted general index showed an increase of 1.4% in June 2024 compared to the corresponding index in May 2024.
