“Greece needs a new, more productive and more durable model of growth – and the new development law is a pillar of this strategy,” said Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos as part of the presentation of the new Development Law to the House of Representatives.

The Minister of Development described the new development law as a tool of strategic importance, which responds to the need for the productive transformation of the Greek economy.

He added how the law provides for investment regimes totaling more than € 1 billion for the period 2025-2026, with priority in manufacturing, large investment, social entrepreneurship, extroversion and border and economically weaker areas of the country.

Overall, as he pointed out, 12 reinforcement regimes are established, which respond to the needs of modern and regional targeted investment projects – from cutting -edge technologies to agri -food, tourism, supply chain and value chains.

As the Minister of Development described, Investment plans approvals will be completed within 90 days From submitting the application, through a fully digitized evaluation system, and the law also includes implementation clause.

This targeting, as Mr Theodorikakos said, reflects the real needs of the Greek economy: increasing productivity, enhancing employment and competitiveness and expanding export orientation.

“There is no greater social policy than securing stable work. But this requires strong productive base“, He stressed, noting that – despite the boost of exports and industry – the balance deficit remains high and is” a national problem that cannot be ignored “.

The minister was particularly emphasis on the role of Greek industry as a key and stable pillar for the new development career, while stressing that technology, innovation and utilization of applied research are a key prerequisite for creating new, competitive products and enhancing extroversion.

‘The change of productive standard is a term of survival and a prerequisite for security and progress“, Concluded Mr. Theodorikakos, referring to a national effort to sustainable development focusing on the productive forces of the country, social cohesion and support of the Greek region.
