The long-term effects of rising food prices in the world; listen to podcast

by

In March, the inflation of basic food items in Brazil reached 21% in the last 12 months. The increase accompanies a global escalation: a survey by the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) points out that the price of meats, grains, dairy products, oils and sugar is the highest in the last 32 years.

The difficulties imposed by the pandemic were accelerated by the war between Russia and Ukraine and made the price of food soar. In addition, the scenario of consecutive crises is aggravated by the instability of the climate, which harms crops worldwide.

This Thursday (14), Café da Manhã discusses the effects of the most expensive food around the globe, the projections of experts for the future and the possible political impact of this scenario. The interview is with the reporter from Sheet Fernando Canzian.
