THE science, art, physical theater and psychology become one with society and digital technology as the Dare.Dance.Digitalize team hosts the two-day dare Dance Festival (dDF) May 28-29 in Athensin the Cinema Ideal. The two-day festival will present works of art to the public “that do not reproduce social conventions and representations, but aim to become a powerful medium that will give space to the different and will (co-) shape the unformed“, As reported by its pioneering creators.
The group consists of Antonis Bertos, interdisciplinary artist, physical theater performer-psychologist, Artemis Manakou, actor-physical theater performer, kinesiologist and Vangelis Papaevangeliou cinematographer-director. From 2018, they aim to create short films & videodance with a strong artistic and social impact.
As the three leaders in APE-MPE report: “The vision of the dare Dance Festival is to unite more people and artists, more cities, different social groups and organizations through short films, videodance and performances. At a time when the challenges are huge, for us it is necessary that the beauty of art includes more new representations, more communication-research-inclusion and greater truth and passion for life».
And they go on to say: “We are looking behind the form. We focus on subjectivity and how we relate to everything around us. We choose paths, kinetic ideas and approaches to the body through various practices of physical theater, contemporary dance, acting and authentic movement, researching the interaction of this theme in order to develop new forms of kinesiology and self-awareness as a new tangible moving phenomenon.».
Dare.Dance.Digitalize was awarded and funded for its innovation as an interdisciplinary project in 2019, by the European Program i-portunus creative europe, traveling to Düsseldorf, Germany and this year 3-6 May through the European Program eb ́Rebuild OP ́ , traveled to Palermo, Italy to represent Greece, as an art and innovation program for young people, among 50 organizations from 5 European Countries.
In the 1st dDF of 2022, professional productions of Dare Dance Digitalize and members of the group will be screened. Also, videodances of the participants, the two-month seminar cycle for professional dancers and actors and the annual seminar cycle of people without previous experience in movement.
DDF22 is a platform for the projection of works by other artists who share its vision and aesthetics by participating with videodance but also as a physical presence on the Ideal stage in a surprise performance # onStage22.
