Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander, 41, has pleaded not guilty after trying to break into the singer’s wedding to Sam Asghari, 28, in June. According to information from the website Page Six, he was indicted on Tuesday (12) with a criminal complaint.
There is a surety bond in the amount equivalent to R$ 543 thousand. However, he pleads not guilty to stalking, the other count of domestic violence and three others that refer to the misdemeanor of aggravated burglary, vandalism and assault.
Now, he will have to wait for the next hearing, scheduled for August 2. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison. A public defender said the criminal stalking charge against his client should be reduced to a misdemeanor because there wasn’t enough evidence he was there to harm Spears, but the judge disagreed.
On June 9, Jason was arrested for breaking into hours before the venue where the singer and Sam Asghari were to be married. According to EW, he was arrested on an outstanding warrant for violating a restraining order against another woman.
Alexander even made a live on his profile on Instagram to show the location of the ceremony and the decorations that were still being assembled by the organizers of the party. According to People, he could be heard shouting her name and telling security that he had been invited to the wedding.
