With the unique interpretations of Sofia Manou and Stavros Haliabalia
The Music Foundation and “KANON” Orchestra of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens present the musical performance entitled “MIKRASSIA TOPOS HELLENIKOS” as part of the 1st Festival of the Region of Attica in the theater of the Atticus Grove, “KATINA PAXINOU”, on Thursday, September 1 at 9:00 p.m.
With her unique interpretations Sophia Manou and his Stavrou Haliabaliathe “KANON” Orchestra of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens under the direction of Georgios Demelis and the orchestrations of Theodosis Sykiotis, will present the culture and passion of the refugees of Asia Minor, which will remind us of the sorrows but also the joys of this culture.
Guided by Asia Minor music as well as songs by younger Greek composers inspired by the events, the viewer will travel back in time and remember the unforgettable homelands and the vibrant Greek culture of Asia Minor through the stories of Anna Liami.
The Dance Department of the Center for Ecclesiastical Ministry of Oinofyta, under the guidance of Ms. Christina Sterpi, and the Dance Department of the Academy of Greek Traditional Dances “Lygistes” under the guidance of Vangelis Karotsis and Alexandra Vangelis, are participating.
The production is directed by the General Director of the Music Foundation of the Holy Archdiocese, Archimandrite Ireneos Nakos.
The performance is organized as part of the 1st Festival of the Attica Region at the theater of the Attic Groves, “KATINA PAXINOU”.
