The singer Paula Fernandes suffered a serious car accident on the Presidente Castello Branco highway, in São Paulo, on the eve of her 38th birthday, on Saturday (27). She, who was accompanied by her boyfriend Rony Cecconello, had minor injuries.
“I still don’t really know how I am, I just know that I’m alive and that yesterday I was reborn. This shocking image [do carro capotado] represents the hardest day of my life, when I thought it would be the end of us”, said the singer in a text published on Instagram.
Paula also shared on the social network, this Sunday (28), the photo of the overturned car and told details of the accident. She said she was returning to São Paulo from the countryside when a runaway car hit the back of her vehicle.
“I lost control of the steering with the force of the crash and our car flipped a few times and dragged on the asphalt until it stopped. A lot went through my head in those seconds of horror”, said Paula, who was driving the car at the time of the accident.
When the vehicle stopped, the singer said she just wanted to know how her boyfriend was doing. According to Paula, Cecconello had some scratches and she hurt her arm a little. “God, the car ended up on the outside, but it protected us like a safe, avoiding the worst, and the seat belt, which can save a lot of people’s lives like it saved ours.”
The singer revealed that she is still in shock and that the accident scene is repeated as a movie. “I feel tachycardia and fear when I remember. It was very difficult to sleep tonight. But the most important thing of all at this moment is that we are reborn”, said the singer.
Paula said that God gave her on her birthday – this Sunday – the gift of staying alive and being able to start over. She said that now she intends to spend more time with the ones she loves and make the next few days the best of her life. “We are finite…We have to enjoy our time here.”
