Zac Efron reveals he doesn’t leave the house because of an anxiety disorder

Zac Efron revealed that he suffers from an anxiety disorder that makes him avoid leaving the house lately. The disease that affects the “High School Musical” star is called agoraphobia and is characterized by the intense fear of being in situations or places that can cause loss of control, shame or even panic attacks. “I just don’t go out. People in large groups end up triggering my agoraphobia and I feel bad,” he commented.

The actor, 34, also confided in the interview with the American magazine Men’s Health that his mental health was shaken because of the recordings of the film ‘Baywatch: SOS Malibu’ (2017). Zac claimed that the struggle to have a breathtaking physique got him into trouble. “I started to develop insomnia and fell into a really bad depression for a long time. I had a really hard time stabilizing myself. They attributed that to the factor of taking diuretics for a long time and it spoiled something”, said the interpreter of the strong character Matt Brody .

“This ‘Baywatch’ look I don’t know if it’s really achievable. There’s very little water on the skin. And that required [o medicamento] Lasix, powerful diuretics, to get the body healed. I prefer to have 2-3% extra body fat,” he added.

Zac also commented on the criticism he received because of his face. In April 2021, he made a video and fans suspected an unsuccessful facial matching. At the time, the images even inspired memes. Efron, however, explained that he had had a domestic accident and because of that, his face was swollen, but he didn’t care for the comments. “If I valued what other people thought of me the way they might think I do, I definitely wouldn’t be able to do this job.”
