Marilyn Monroe as you’ve never seen her before: Unknown photos of her from 1955 up for auction

“Marilyn created an electric charge with every click of the shutter and I captured her image frozen forever.”

THE Marilyn Monroe she’s ready for her close-up again. Some sexy photos of the glamorous Hollywood star taken by journalist Marvin Scott in 1955 when she was a teenager, and not widely known, are going up for auction.

The award-winning reporter for New York’s Channel 11 recalls that the black-and-white footage was “taken by me as a teenager when I managed to get into the first show of a circus with my high school pass in the Bronx.”

Monroe made a guest appearance at a benefit show for the famed Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Scott said the actress was “the main attraction at the opening show… He entered the arena on a pink elephant. It was her first public appearance since her divorce from Joe DiMaggio.”

The teenager, who would go on to become an award-winning reporter, captured the footage with a camera Rolleiflex.

As he typically writes about that night: “There was a magical quality to this beautiful woman in front of the camera… There, she was as large as life itself, and I was photographing her. Marilyn created an electric charge with every click of the shutter and I captured her image frozen forever.”
