BBB1 participant, Alessandra Begliomini for a long time carried the title of “spokesperson” of a drama that tormented her for years and ended up being exposed on Globo’s reality show: bulimia.
Today, 20 years later, Leka, as she became known, tells how she overcame her eating disorder in a book called “Loka, Me?! My Story of Weights, Limits and Big Compulsions”.
It’s a self-help book, he explains. “I want women to become more and more aware of the dangers of the search for the perfect body. Perfection does not exist”, she warns. Fifth place in the first edition of the reality, she says that she does not regret having participated in the attraction, but if she were invited to return, she would refuse.
“It passed. It was an exercise in self-knowledge and a genuine participation not only for me, but for the other brothers and sisters. Today, this is impossible”, evaluates the former BBB, recalling the naivety of the participants at the time, who pioneered the still unknown territory. of the reality show that arrived in Brazil.
“We thought that no one watched the program (laughs), and now the reality is completely different. As much as a spontaneous character, no one is totally in the dark about the attraction”, says she, who is now a businesswoman, owner of a clothing store.
Leka recalls that participating in the show worsened her eating disorder, but she doesn’t blame Globo – or anyone else.
Bulimia is characterized by the exaggerated consumption of food, followed by reactions to avoid weight gain, and scenes in which he appeared vomiting in the bathroom were aired at the time. “I barely knew what to call it. When I went out and saw the footage, it felt like I was a character and that, an issue I didn’t even identify with,” she says.
Like other BBBs, Leka has become a sex symbol. From there to pose nude was a leap. “The proposal, at first, seemed to me the most absurd of my life, but then it made me feel wonderful, a goddess. I fulfilled a dream. I did it more on a whim even than for the money”, says the businesswoman, who in 2021 found herself involved in a controversy, when the first edition of “Big Brother Brasil” was replayed on Canal Viva.
At this time, also ex-BBB 1 Cristiana Mota revealed she had a “deadly hatred” for Leka, with whom she would have partnered in the house and agreed to share a prize of R$ 50 thousand, won in one of the marketing actions during the confinement. . Cris, who is a producer, said she never received the R$ 25,000 that would be her right and accuses her former friend of defaulting.
Leka finds the charge “very strange” after so long. “Why didn’t you speak up before? When you want to solve something, run after it. I only do a show when I think the cause is good. Do you understand? Like now: I’m doing my show, which is to launch my book”.
