Regina Duarte is criticized for encouraging discrimination against PT members

Regina Duarte returned to use social networks this Sunday (13) to still protest against the election of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for president of the Republic two weeks ago. The actress released a request for Lula’s voters to wear a sticker with the Workers’ Party star identifying themselves at the door of their respective businesses as supporters of the new government. The former Secretary of Culture of Jair Bolsonaro was heavily criticized and even accused of encouraging discrimination against PT members.

In the post, Regina placed an image of the PT’s red star symbol with the following description: “Attention PT, put this sticker on the door of your business. Show that you are proud of who you elected”. She also added in the publication: “The caption is already a post”.

Actor and presenter Rafael Cortez was one of the first to criticize Regina Duarte. He recalled the identification imposed on Jews in 1941. All Jews over the age of six wore a yellow Star of David, on a black background, with the word “Jew” on the chest. “You know that asking to put a PT symbol refers to the act of the Nazis forcing Jews to put the star of Judaism on their clothes and establishments, don’t you? Do you feel bad about resonating Nazi concepts?”, Cortez asked. .

A netizen also disapproved of Regina’s post. “Homophobic post! Sad to see an artist, an actress for so many years, who still played revolutionary roles like Malu from the series “Malu Mulher”, come with this kind of behavior”. Another follower still wanted to know what the actress’ intention would be with the publication. “For sure and I still do the ‘L’ for Lula”. What are you wanting with this, Regina?”

The actress also received support for the publication. “The people have to learn not to pay attention, applause and money to PT members”, commented an internet user and another fan of Regina added: “They don’t have the courage. I still insist on not even entering”.

Since Jair Bolsonaro was defeated at the polls, Regina has shown that she does not accept the result. She made several posts making it clear that she was against the new government and also regretting the country’s future under Lula’s administration. Like her professional colleague Cássia Kis, she recently participated in anti-democratic demonstrations on Avenida Paulista and even wrote: “The people believe in Justice. Divine Justice that will come to save Brazilians from Communist ruses.”
