Nick Carter: ‘Cancelled’ by ABC for Christmas show – Sued for rape of minor

The show was scheduled to air on ABC on December 14

The Christmas show “A Very Backstreet Holiday” with Backstreet Boyswhich was filmed this month in Los Angeles, will not be aired by ABC, according to Variety.

The news became known after the lawsuit filed against the band’s singer Nick Carter for raping a 17-year-old girl during the band’s 2001 tour.

The show was scheduled to air on ABC on December 14, with Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Alexander James McLean, Brian Littrell and Howie Dorrow performing hits from their 10th album ‘A Very Backstreet Christmas’.

Shannon Ruth, 39, filed a sexual assault lawsuit against the singer.

He claims the attack took place in February 2001 after a Backstreet Boys concert in Tacoma, Washington on the band’s bus.

However, Michael Holtz, the singer’s lawyer, said in a statement released to the media that “the allegation of an incident that allegedly took place more than 20 years ago is not only legally invalid, but completely untrue.”

Ruth, who suffers from autism and cerebral palsy, claimed she was a minor when the alleged incident occurred. He claimed he was asked by Carter if he wanted a drink. She reportedly asked for apple juice, but Carter allegedly told her he only had cranberry and gave her a “red drink” he called “VIP juice.”

In a press conference with her lawyers that was aired on Facebook, she said that the juice had alcohol in it and that she drank it because she didn’t want to be rude and then the singer abused her and gave her the HPV virus.

“Ms Ruth has been manipulated into making false claims about Nick – and those claims have been changed repeatedly and substantially over the years. “No one should be fooled by a press stunt orchestrated by an opportunistic lawyer – there is nothing to this claim, which we have no doubt the courts will quickly realize,” the singer’s lawyer said.
