Christina Ricci she knows her acting career is already having an impact on her children. In an interview with The Guardian newspaper, the actress said her 8-year-old son Freddie “won’t be able to avoid” having a feminist perspective as a result of his mom and stepdad.

“My husband, Mark Hampton, I don’t like to say it because it sounds really obnoxious, he’s a feminist,” Ritchie said. “And Freddy will see this and see his working mother.”

“I think he’s going to see women in a much more layered, complicated way, just by growing up watching his mom do all those things,” she added.

The actress, who currently plays strong female characters in two separate series – Misty Quigley on Yellowjackets and Marilyn Thornhill on Wednesday – said her son is also keenly aware of how women are perceived.

“He asks questions like ‘mum, is he racist?’ Or, ‘Mom, is it okay for women?'” Richie told the Guardian. “He has this whole thing about not calling things – like boats – with that pronoun. He will correct me: “Women are not objects”.
