Roberto de Carvalho used social media to reassure friends and fans about Rita Lee’s health this Saturday (25). The musician said that the singer “is well and getting stronger” after her hospitalization at Albert Einstein Hospital, in São Paulo, this Friday afternoon (24).
“I want to inform you that Rita is fine, getting stronger, recovering. It is known that there will always be monitoring tests and therapies to be carried out, which will eventually result in hospitalizations, since one has to deal with the disease and the effects side effects of the treatments”, began the musician.
According to Roberto, Rita Lee’s hospitalization is part of the recovery process from lung cancer, diagnosed in May 2021. In April last year, the singer’s eldest son, Beto Lee, revealed that she had nicknamed the tumor from “Jair”. “That’s Rita”, said Beto, in a publication on social networks. Rita underwent sessions of radiotherapy and immunotherapy.
Rita’s companion since 1976 and father of three children (Beto, João and Antônio), he thanked for the support after the news about the hospitalization worried friends and fans. “We thank you for the tsunami of love, affection and positivity that we have received. Thank you very much. And let’s go ahead and may the Great Lights of the Universe guide us in all ways.”
