Plans for a cube-shaped skyscraper in downtown Riyadh have been unveiled by Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, chairman of the newly formed New Murabba Development Company.

At 440 meters high, Mukaab will be the tallest building in the Saudi capital and will be erected as part of the planned wider Murabba district.

The facade of the cube-shaped skyscraper will be characterized by overlapping triangular shapes that are a reference to the contemporary Najdi architectural style.

The building will include two million square kilometers of luxury residences, shops, restaurants, malls, hotels and an atrium with a spiral tower inside!

The wider Murabba development – 19 square kilometres, in total, northwest of the city center – will include more than 100,000 homes and 9,000 hotel rooms, as well as over 980,000 square meters of shops and 1.4 million square meters of offices.

Also, 80 venues for entertainment and cultural events, a university of technology and design, a multipurpose theater and an “iconic” museum. According to the Saudi government, the project is scheduled to be completed in 2030
