Greece is ranked among the top 10 destinations on the HOTELBEDS platform – the leading force in the “bed bank” market internationally. The ever-increasing demand for Greek destinations is recorded on the HOTELBEDS platform as early as the first 3 months of 2023.

During this period, bookings with the destination “Greece” have increased by 20% compared to the same period in 2022 and 12% compared to 2019. On the occasion of this fact, the company’s leadership visited Athens and met with the general secretary of the EOT Mr. Dimitris Fragakis and executives of the Organization with the aim of underlining the commitment of HOTELBEDS in Greece. At the EOT working meeting, Hotelbeds CEO Nicolas Huss, General Commercial Manager Carlos Munioz and Senior Destination Director Florian Blois discussed with EOT Secretary General. Dimitris Fragakis, the general manager Sofia Lazaridou and the director of Tourist Promotion Eleni Mitraki, the possibility of Hotelbeds’ contribution to the development and promotion of the tourism product of Greece, especially in the low tourist season.

“It was our honor to meet with the executives of E.O.T. and discuss how we can work together to further strengthen the Greek Tourism Industry” said Hotelbeds CEO Nicolas Huss and added: “Our shared vision is to grow in the future and we hope to continue this success through our close cooperation with our local partners”.

During their stay, the heads of Hotelbeds, with the Regional Director of Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Malta and Balkan countries, Marta Gonzales and her team, held an event in Athens in honor of the hoteliers.

The event took place at the Grand Hyatt on Tuesday 14 March and was attended by 100 hoteliers. Carlos Munoz, General Commercial Manager of Hotelbeds, added: “It’s great to meet our Greek partners, talk to them and find ways to support them as best as possible. Such opportunities play a primary role in our company’s human-centered approach at a professional level.”

“Bed banks” are specialized B2B and B2C platforms that conclude contracts with their suppliers (hotels) and make their products (rooms, accommodation) available either to other distribution companies that gather demand from different sources, or directly to customers who wish to to travel. As a tourist accommodation distribution business they provide customer service to support both hotels and other distributors with problems that arise during their customers’ stay at the destination they have chosen to spend the holidays.
