Emily Ratajkowski spoke in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times about her decision to leave Hollywood, describing its culture as “toxic and sexist.”

The 31-year-old “priestess” of the catwalk revealed that she felt “objectified and judged by the men who control the film industry”. She pointed out that she had to become more “palatable” to powerful men in order to succeed. “I felt like a piece of meat that people were judging, saying ‘does she have anything but her breasts?'” commented the model.

Ratajkowski explained that during her five-year career as a Hollywood actress, she felt vulnerable to “the power and the power that the men’s club holds.” This resulted in her firing her agent, sales representative and manager in 2020, with the intention of stepping away from acting altogether.

“I didn’t trust them,” he said. “I said, ‘I can handle taking phone calls. I’ll make those decisions. None of you have my best interests at heart. And you all hate women.'”

Recall that Emily became more widely known in 2013 after her appearance in the music video for Robin Thicke’s hit “Blurred Lines”, she made her big screen debut in the 2014 film “Gone Girl”, and then starred in several other films such as ‘We Are Your Friends’ and ‘I Feel Pretty’.

It’s worth noting that Ratajkowski hasn’t appeared on the big screen since 2019’s ‘Lying and Stealing’ and failed to secure a role in last year’s hit ‘Triangle of Sadness’.
