Casablanca constitutes his city Morocco and is a point of reference for the country. It has a long history and this is reflected in its buildings, its neighborhoods and the way people operate.
Many will say that it is more worth visiting Marrakech, but a walk from Casablanca will give you more insight into real life and not the tourist side of the country.
Hassan II Mosque
The Hassan II Mosque is one of the most important monuments in the city and this shows in several ways. The luxurious mosque is considered the second largest in the world, after the Mecca mosque. The minaret is imposing, since with a height of 210 meters it is even higher than the Great Pyramid of Giza. The building was built in 1993. 800 million dollars were spent on its construction, much of which was raised mainly by the faithful.
Inside you notice pink granite on the columns and spots with golden marble on the floor. Within it, 25 thousand visitors can pray at the same time.
The location is no less impressive. It is located on the edge of a rocky bay, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. At least one walk in the square outside the mosque is worth it.

Medina
The Medina is a chaotic and at the same time familiar area. We could compare it to a large labyrinth. However, for the locals, things are not quite like that. It is built based on architectural rules. In the center is a mosque and the rest of the neighborhoods unfold around it. People belonging to different religions or ethnicities live in different neighborhoods, which also have their own rules.

Here you will see small shops selling clothes, shoes, bags and jewelry. The imitations of the big companies are good and quite cheap. A little further from the shops, there are stalls selling fresh vegetables, fruit, fish and meat. You will quickly realize that if you don’t speak Arabic or French, communication will be a bit difficult, but people are willing to help. Undoubtedly, if you want to feel the pulse of Casablanca, you must get lost in the alleys of the Medina.
Ain Diab
This is a good place to walk around and admire some of the city’s buildings. Most of the coastline is now occupied by luxury hotels, restaurants and cafes. Here you will have the opportunity to eat some of the most delicious dishes of Moroccan cuisine, such as tajine, Sharmila and, of course, couscous. Also, during the day, many beach clubs hold events where you can dance, sunbathe or swim in the pools.

Port
It is the largest port in Morocco and the fourth largest in all of Africa. This is the most important part of the city. Cargo ships that bring oil, motor vehicles, cotton, cement and export phosphates, manganese, zinc, iron ore and agricultural products dock here.
If you find yourself at the port, you will notice a large number of cranes. In addition, there are many special facilities in the port, such as warehouses, cargo platforms, oil storage facilities, several elevators and more. The port seems to be a living organism that does not sleep.
Here you will find restaurants and taste the most delicious fish.
